**Job Summary:**
**100% Clinical Effort**
+ Clinical Faculty in the Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) Network of Care (NOC) and Emergency Department provide medical care to acutely ill and injured infants, children, and adolescents; perform history and physical examinations; and define and execute appropriate workup that leads to diagnosis, treatment, and disposition.
+ Clinical coverage includes days, evenings and weekend shifts based on CFTE. Clinical hours will also include major and minor holidays allocated proportionately.
+ Expected attendance at section meetings:
+ At least 75% of the monthly Section meetings
+ Maintain Colorado State certifications based on requirements of a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant.
+ Maintain skills in urgent/emergent care of children by completing the following:
+ Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
+ Scheduled Acute Care Education sessions
+ Participation in 1 high fidelity code simulation per academic year
+ Other technical seminars as deemed mandatory by the section and/or practice site in conjunction with input from the Medical Director

**Minimum Qualifications**
_Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire._
+ _Graduate of an accredited Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program_
+ _Active Colorado NP or PA license or ability to apply_
+ _Current DEA or ability to apply_
+ _Current PALS Certification_
+ _At least one year of experience as nurse practitioner or physician assistant in pediatrics or an acute care setting (i.e., Emergency Department, PICU, etc.)_
**_Preferred Qualifications_**
+ _Two or more years of experience as nurse practitioner or physician assistant in pediatrics Emergency Department._
**_Condition of Employment:_**
+ _Must successfully pass a 10-panel drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado._
+ _Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal and sex-offender background check._

You will be expected to maintain 1.0cFTE (clinical effort). Clinical Practitioners at 1.0 cFTE will be expected to provide coverage for 1,376 hours. All clinical hours obligations are negotiable with the Section Head at any time. This coverage will consist of Children's Hospital Colorado Emergency Department Denver Metro area. Coverage will include: a) Pediatric emergency care b) Jeopardy shifts (an internal physician coverage system for unanticipated absence) This role is expected to work onsite at Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO.
