Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Education Coordinator and Program Director, instructs and supervises students in the classroom for assigned courses and in the clinical and didactic setting. Responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating curriculum as well as assisting the Coordinator in clinical site visits, record-keeping and other school operations.

Develops, implements and evaluates didactic teaching strategies to promote student achievement of course objectives. Prepares class lectures and assignments to help students grasp course content. Identifies and selects different instructional resources and methods to meet students’ varying learning needs, using relevant technology. Creates a learning environment that encourages student involvement and participation. Conducts meaningful student conferences relating theory to practice. Provides tutorial sessions. Assists in ensuring that students are competent to manage the delivery of radiation and possess the knowledge, skills and capabilities to provide safe, high quality patient care. Ensures that all students are proficient in MRI and CT safety. Uses knowledge of school philosophy, objective and organizing framework in implementation of the curriculum. Demonstrates compliance with the national educational standards that will give students the knowledge, skills, attributes and clinical experience needed for entry into the profession and for practice of the profession.Evaluates and ensures clinical education effectiveness through regularly scheduled visits of clinical facilities. Assists with student competency and performance evaluation programs. Responsible for ensuring student and clinical site observance of clinical rotation schedules commensurate with the students’ needs and abilities. Assists in the organizing and conducting of career days and other recruiting activities that foster positive relationships with the community. Participates in clinical instructor meetings to share student progress and discuss issues and concerns. Conducts seminars and in-service programs.Contributes to ongoing develop of curriculum including philosophy, school and course objectives, course sequence and content. Maintains statistical record of student achievement and assists with completion of JRCERT self-study and site visits to obtain and maintain school accreditation. Assists in ensuring compliance with the national educational standards. Assists in the preparation and updating of program policies and utilizes the student policy manual.Assists in the enforcement of program, hospital and organizational policies. Participates with all faculty in the development and implementation of academic policies, guiding principles, objectives and functions in accordance with the philosophy of the school. Ensures the work and learning environment promotes and embraces diversity and inclusion. Keeps current in the field of radiology and maintains professional growth through current literature, attendance at workshops, seminars, membership in professional organizations and networking with other imaging educators.Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required.Languages:
English required.Certifications:
Must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) in good standing.Must have certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(R)(MR)(ARRT) and/or certification in Computed Tomography: R.T.(R)(CT)(ARRT) in good standing. Both are preferred.Current state licensure (RL) required prior to employment if certified in CT.Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within new hire period.Competencies (Complexity of Work):
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Must be able to direct the work of others (students).Work Experience:
Minimum two years’ experience as a radiographer.Minimum two years’ experience in CT and/or MRI.Teaching experience preferred.Physical Requirements:
Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing to normal range.Requires standing, walking and sitting for extensive periods of time.Manual dexterity sufficient to operate basic office equipment.Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
