Faculty Appointment Type Non-Tenure Track Term (if applicable) 9 month Begin Date of Appointment 08/12/2024 Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt General Function The Instructor NT is a non-tenure track position with responsibilities to teach full-time and to provide appropriate service. The Instructor NT may participate in research or creative activities. Description of Primary Duties The successful candidate will teach four classes a semester in producing, and preproduction for television and film production courses. A background in producing, directing, stage work or screenwriting a plus. Candidate will advise majors and participate in service activities appropriate to a non-tenure-track faculty position. Ability to work collegially and supportively with faculty colleagues and alumni with attention to the Missouri State University’s Public Affairs Mission of cultural competence, community engagement, and ethical leadership. Minimum Acceptable Qualifications An earned terminal degree or the degree required for teaching in certain disciplines is required. Potential or demonstrated teaching ability is required. A willingness to serve the academic unit, college, and the University is required. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required. Additional Qualifications Terminal degree in Television Production, Film Production, Screenwriting, or related field (MFA or PhD) required. Experience in producing or directing television or film preferred.
