Description
Rowan College at Burlington County, a comprehensive college in New Jersey's largest county, seeks qualified applicants for the Engineering Instructor position in the Division of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics for the Spring 2025 semester.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
This tenure track position focuses on teaching lecture and lab courses in engineering. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the technical aspects of engineering and have skills in several of the following areas: Engineering Clinics, Statistics, dynamics, Strength of Materials, Basic Physics, and Computer courses.
With the technical skills, the ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability and enthusiasm to lead student team projects, including guiding students in developing and implementing projects that demonstrate their understanding of course material and providing mentorship and support throughout the project development process. In addition, the candidate should be able to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to students with diverse backgrounds, engage in continuous learning, and participate in departmental and institutional service activities.
OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Required:
Master's in any Engineering degree or a closely related discipline.
Experience Required:
At least one year of teaching experience at the college or high school level.
Ability to assimilate industry scenarios and role-playing into engineering instruction.
Experience Preferred:
Engineering curriculum design and development.
Engineering laboratories courses teaching.
Assessment and student learning outcomes design and analysis—at least one year of industrial experience involving the applications of Engineering.
Knowledge of ABET/ATMAE accreditation
Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements
Maintain accurate records of student progress, academic performance, and other relevant data.
Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling classes, managing course registrations, and processing student paperwork.
Additional Information
INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:
Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
