The UT Criminal Justice Program offers two unique Bachelor’s degrees in Criminology or Digital Defense and Security, and is the only program in Utah offering a four-year degree in this discipline with these specialized areas of training. These distinct areas of study, combined with new facilities for Criminal Justice students, make this program at UT a truly unique educational experience. Responsibilities + Teach 30 workload credits of lower-division Criminal Justice lecture courses each academic year, usually as 15 workload credits per Fall and Spring Semester. + Perform defined faculty duties, including holding office hours, attendance at department and division meetings, and adherence to college, division, and university policies and procedures. + Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications + Master’s in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or related field required; PhD in Criminology or related field or JD preferred. + Professional experience working within the Criminal Justice field preferred. + Demonstrated ability in successful teaching, be technology literate and willing to become certified to teach online courses; finalists will be required to demonstrate competence through a teaching demonstration. + Demonstrated ability to provide proactive educational leadership; excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Commitment to academic excellence and exceptional services, with proven effectiveness in allocating and managing sources, utilizing computer-related technologies to enhance education methodology, and proficiency in curriculum design, program administration, program evaluation, instruction, student guidance, and academic counseling. Supplemental Information POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Full-time (9-month) professional-track faculty position. Faculty service begins August 2025, with pay and benefits starting July 1, 2025. Annual salary of $54,000-$56,000 depending on qualifications and experience, with additional compensation available for optional summer/overload teaching.
