**39190BR** **Extended Job Title:** Instructor or Higher (Pediatrics) **Org Level 1:** Texas Tech Unv Hlth Sci Ctr El Paso **Position Description:** Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching and service, some variation by academic unit. **Requisition ID:** 39190BR **Travel Required:** Up to 25% **Major/Essential Functions:** + Provide patient care and diagnosis in all areas of Pediatrics to newborns, children, and adolescents. + Examine patients to determine the presence of disease and establishes preventive health practices. + Determine nature and extent of disease or injury. + Prescribe and administer medications and immunizations. + Precept medical students and residents in the clinic and newborn nursery. + Supervise physician assistants and/or nurse practitioners in the clinical and inpatient setting. + Engage in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship. + Serve the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties + Contribute to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission. + Ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations. + Adhere to institutional and departmental policies and procedures. + Demonstrate professionalism in accordance with the Paul L.
