Beyond the required education and experience instructors must have a passion for what they teach and have teaching styles that support student success. Instructors are responsible for following Division and College procedures in support of teaching and learning.

Position Purpose: To provide a successful, high quality and competitive experience for the student-athletes as it relates to the goals of the department and college. Assist in developing a competitive intercollegiate Woman’s Soccer team that reflects Lane’s Vision, Mission, and Values while demonstrating a strong work ethic, high levels of integrity, and honesty. Essential Functions: Assistant coaching responsibilities for Women’s Soccer will include pre-season, in-season, post-season and out of season responsibilities. Assistant coaching responsibilities include coaching, recruiting, training, and supervising student-athletes. Maintain a working knowledge of the rules governing the sport to be coached, schedule contests, record statistics, maintain athletic equipment, facilities, and supplies under the supervision of the head coach. Provide leadership in the personal, athletic, and academic development of student-athletes. Assist in developing strategies to actively recruit and retain an eligible Women’s Soccer team roster of student-athletes throughout each academic year as determined in consultation with the head coach. Assist in developing and seeking fund-raising to support the success of the Women’s Soccer program. Ensure adherence to all Lane Community College, Athletics Department, Northwest Athletic Conference, and other regulatory agencies rules, policies, and procedures by the Women’s Soccer programs student-athletes, coaches, and staff. Successfully assist to develop and implement game strategy, position assignments, and plan all practice/training sessions. Work cooperatively with the head coach and support staff to ensure proper scheduling, field usage and care of facilities. Participate and work collaboratively and respectfully in a team environment. Support, train, and coach student-athletes in a competitive collegiate program. Ensure and actively promote positive reinforcement and encouragement. Confer with students on athletic evaluation results. Comply with Oregon Department of Motor Vehicle laws while driving college van/vehicles to and from events, both in the evening and daytime. Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students. Other duties as assigned.
