The Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business at Belmont University is seeking applications for two full-time faculty positions at the rank of Instructor (non-tenure track), Professor of Practice (non-tenure track), Assistant Professor (tenure track), Associate Professor (tenure track), and/or Full Professor (tenure track) beginning August 1, 2025. 

Job functions:

Job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate classes (24 credit hours per year) and/or graduate classes in the field of music business, as well as participating in academic advising, student mentoring, research and scholarly activity, and college and university service. 

Comprehensive knowledge of the music industry is required. The ideal candidate is an expert in the following areas: record label operations (major and independent, including the understanding and impact of data), the live economy (venue, booking, promotion, touring, and/or merchandise), marketing in the music industry, and/or music publishing. Courses taught may include Record Label Operations, Understanding the Live Economy, Venue Management, Concert Promotion and Booking, Digital Music Marketing, Music Streaming, A&R, Influencing Culture as a Christian in the Entertainment Industry, Copyright Law, and/or Music Publishing.

Focusing on the above aspects of the music business, such ideal candidate will develop and improve existing courses that recognize the changing landscape of the music business and how the industry can rapidly adapt to technological advancements.

Complete 24 workload hours, or equivalent, per academic year.Advise and mentor students in research and other class-related projects.Engage in activities to support the mission and vision of Belmont University and the college in which you teach.Participate in departmental and university committee work.Engage in scholarly activity and professional development.Advise students in course selection and degree completion.Participate in a local church and the community.Abide by all relevant university and/or department procedures and policies.Manage online grading system.Timely submission of book orders, if textbooks required.
