PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Instructor T&E Systems Training is responsible for delivering T&E computer systems training across the Southern territory. They are responsible for coordinating the necessary resources, providing, and documenting trainee feedback, ensuring training results for all courses they provide are tracked appropriately, and validating training material is accurate and current.  The instructor must be able to travel for extended periods of time to support training, conduct field visits and support operation deployments on little to no notice.  The Instructor Training is accountable to the business leaders and operates within the context and prescribed limits.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
•  Accountable for the delivery of Operations computer systems training for their client group in support of the business strategies and performance improvement targets for Operations. 
•  Accountable to assist in the development and revision of course materials, instructional materials, and job aids. 
•  Accountable to track training records for courses provided to client groups.
•  Deal with emerging computer systems training issues for T&E Operations.
•  Provides technical support for T&E Operations systems.
•  Provides support in analyzing data and testing systems as they are rolled out across the Southern territory of the CPKC U.S. network.
•  The role is responsible for consulting with the business line leaders to identify system issues and work toward solutions in support of the business strategies.
•  Problem-solving includes drill downs into why objectives by training participants are not translating into performance and then altering and adjusting training programs and plans as required to ensure consistency and quality of training outcomes are achieved.
•  2 or more years of experience with the following systems:


o    Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
o    "QUADS" Locomotive Data Analysis Software
o    "Loco Shut Down Audit Tool" Record compliance with Fuel Conservation Policy
o    "NICE" Scenario Replay phone recording replay and export
o    "PS" VRU Statistics website
o    NEXUS" Train Lineup and delay reporting
o    "AIR" Inventory Reporting
o    "CMA WEB Reporting" Crew-To-Train Ratio, Early Quits, Mileage Reports
o    "TYES" Basic car movement and inventory information
o    "DWELL 2.03 Report" Car dwell in local yards
o    "CAT Tools" Consist Accuracy Tools
o    "SBU Manager Tool" Update SBU inventory in local yards

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
•  Strong leadership skills
•  Strong written and verbal communication skills
•  Strong administrative skills
•  Strong understanding of Safety Rules and Safety expectations
•  Knowledge of adult education and the adult learning cycle
•  Knowledge of instructional design principles
•  Knowledge of Collected Bargaining Agreements 
•  Ability to create engaging educational opportunities that increase the performance of technical employees at CPKC
