**Where the chemistry happens...**
In this role, you will be responsible for engineering of new installations or upgrades to electrical, instrumentation, and/or control systems within a chemical manufacturing site containing multiple active-ingredient plants and one packaging facility, as well as support-areas like utilities and incineration. You will also serve as a critical technical resource for operations, reliability, and maintenance support, and work with our team to help establish and maintain consistency across our site, in areas such as instrumentation, control systems, electrical safety, electrical classifications, communications protocols, power distribution, electrical codes and standards, and BASF guidance and requirements relevant to manufacturing processes and equipment operation.
**You create chemistry by....**
+ Interpreting and adhering to BASF Technical Standards, industry standards, and applicable regulatory and design codes, as applicable to specific jobs and projects.
+ Providing engineering technical support for all phases of project execution, technical assistance for commissioning / startup and troubleshooting operational systems, assisting maintenance, etc., and review, validate/challenge, and provide constructive feedback on new and revised BASF Technical Standards and Site Practices relating to Instrumentation, Controls, and/or Electrical engineering.
+ Specifying requirements and obtaining quotes for Instruments, Controls, and Electrical Equipment; as required, you will direct or provide technical support for equipment procurement.
+ Leading improvement and sustainability efforts, providing guidance in developing ongoing Preventive & Predictive Maintenance programs and ensuring documentation of Instrument, Electrical, and Controls Equipment with the site Maintenance Engineer. As part of this effort, you may be assigned action items by Operations or EHS to address areas for improvement, while meeting time and budget requirements.
+ Serving as one of BASF's representatives for Electrical/Instrumentation/Controls design and engineering, reviewing quotes and designs with project managers, acting as I&E Construction Manager and/or I&E Engineering Lead for small to medium-scope projects, sharing responsibilities with Controls Engineers and delegating tasks to team resources, supporting Site Capital Projects
+ Reviewing BASF Safety and Loss Prevention standards, Ecology Standards, and governmental codes and regulations for changes affecting projects, jobs, designs, and retrofits.
+ Arranging and leading meetings with departments, contractors and suppliers, and frequently interacting constructively with Production, Engineering Maintenance Teams.
+ Entering requisitions, project information, and work-requests, tracking and coordinating progress
**Formula for Success...**
A Bachelors degree in Engineering or relative technical field plus 5+ years relevant work experience preferred or 10 plus years related work experience preferred
Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred
Experience with electrical systems
