Instrument Calibration and Repair Technician

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Instrument Calibration and Repair Technician. The hours for first shift are as follows; 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. 

The hourly rate for this position is $35.61 per hour.

 

What you’ll do:

The Fuel and Motion Control Systems Division of Eaton’s Aerospace Group has an opening for an Instrument Calibration and Repair Operator. This position is based in Euclid, OH. 
 The Euclid facility has approximately 400 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace Fuel Pumping components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.

Position Overview:

•    Install, adjust, repair and calibrate the electrical/electronic and mechanical aspects of a variety of measuring, testing, recording, and controlling devices and equipment used in the manufacture and testing of production parts.
•    Provide assistance to other operators on proper operational procedures when requested.
•    Perform 5S and other job related duties as assigned by foreman.

Essential Functions: 

•    Responsible for devices that include, but are not limited to instruments and equipment, activated by electrical/electronic, thermal, pneumatic, flow, hydraulic, pressure, and magnet impulses, i.e., timers, thermostats, thermocouples, temperature controllers and recorders , volt/ampere meters, counters, and other various precision devices, such as deformation gages, comparators, air gages, moment weight and mass scales temperature and pressure indicators, hardness testers, flow, torque and CMM’s, pH meters, and other similar devices.
•    Lay wire, cable conduit, tubing, etc. for operating equipment to indicating and/or controlling devices.
•    Use a wide variety of electrical/electronic instruments such as volt-ohm-meter, AC/DC calibrators and oscilloscopes and counters to carry out required work.
•    Use a variety of hand tools, soldering equipment and other specialized apparatus to complete installation repair and maintenance of devices.
•    Follow a schedule of inspections for calibration and service of devices to maintain proper functioning of equipment.
•    Perform minor design and modification of existing and new equipment.
•    Disassemble, clean, check and repair devices to perform to required specifications.
•    Install and calibrate any type of measuring, testing, and controlling devices in test buildings, assembly areas, production areas, etc.  May require some modifications to existing equipment to properly install reworked or new equipment/devices.
•    Perform work on various indicators, controllers, conditioners, recorders or any combination.
•    Generate and maintain all records and logs of equipment serviced including any deviations detected and nature of the repairs made.
•    Read and interpret drawings, part lists, schematics, diagrams and blueprints to make operational decisions.
•    Initiate action to purchase repair parts and/or replacement equipment/devices.
•    Work with Supervisors, Engineers, Technicians and other appropriate personnel in diagnostic and problem solving activity.
 

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

•    High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution. 
•    Must reside within a 50 mile radius of work location; no relocation benefit is provided. 
•    This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
•    Minimum 2 ½  years’ experience in installing, repairing, calibrating and maintaining electrical/electronic and mechanical instruments including those activated by thermal, electrical/electronic, force, flow, magnetic impulses, mass, etc.
•    Must have completed 45 credit hours in Electronics, from an accredited institution, with training in mass, flow, force and solid-state controls.
•    In support of experience official documentation from past employer (company) and educational institution detailing work scope and course studies must be provided

Position Criteria:

•    Complete an Eaton approved training program within 30 days.
•    Pass an Eaton vision test.
