Ameresco's Distributed Energy Resource (DER) team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instrument and Controls Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team based in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in designing and constructing renewable natural gas (RNG) plants and landfill gas-to-energy power generation plants. This position requires a strong background in construction, design, and project management, with specific experience in renewable natural gas or power generation. Key Responsibilities: + Lead the instrumentation and controls design and construction efforts for RNG and landfill gas-to-energy projects. + Develop and review instrumentation and control system design plans, specifications, and cost estimates. + Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, mechanical, civil, and process engineers, to ensure seamless project integration. + Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems and equipment. + Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. + Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction phases. + Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. + Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technical staff. + Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to address project requirements and resolve technical issues. + Stay updated with the latest advancements in instrumentation and controls engineering, renewable energy technologies, and industry best practices. + Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation and Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. + Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering, with a focus on construction, design, and project management. Additional Qualifications: + Proven experience in renewable natural gas or power generation projects. + Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, including PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and HMI. + Proficiency in instrumentation and controls design software and tools. + Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. + Effective communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead cross-functional teams. + Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable. #LI-BLP AMERESCO challenges the brightest, most talented and creative individuals in the industry by providing an environment that embraces initiative, diversity, and achievement along with comprehensive rewards, including people-oriented insurance, investment, and incentive plans.
