Job DescriptionWe’re hiring an Instrument/Electrical Technician for our Baton Rouge, LA site who will report to the Maintenance E&I Supervisor. This position is responsible for supporting the plant’s electrical and instrumentation maintenance program, playing a critical role in planned, reactive and preventative maintenance work order execution. Primary responsibilities include:
Responsibilities Repair, calibrate and install in good working condition primary measuring elements, transmitters, controllers, and final control elements for measurement and control of flow, temperature, pressure, and weight systems. Troubleshoot and repair electronic and pneumatic devices. Troubleshoot and repair electrical motors, VFD’s and associated equipment. Install conduit and pull wire. Maintain 13.8KV and 480V systems. Must be able to operate mobile equipment such as fork trucks and man lifts. Must be able to use hand and power tools and electrical test equipment. Must understand all types of electrical systems. Will be required to work some overtime. Must be able to work in unison with same or other craftsmen to accomplish job objectives. Carry out repair and preventative maintenance on equipment per written PM procedures. Troubleshoot and repair Industrial Refrigeration Systems Physical Requirements and Environment Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft. Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator Required Qualifications HS Diploma/GED NCCER Certification for Level 2 Instrument and Electrical or two-year technical degree for Instrument/Electrical. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 4 years industrial plant experience in instrumentation and electrical maintenance. Maintenance and troubleshooting of commercial and/or industrial refrigeration chillers and controls.
