Position Overview: The I&E Technician is responsible for the design, programming, integration, and support of customer control systems.
Job Duties:
+ Wiring of PLCs and other various field control devices.
+ Troubleshoot and commissioning of VFDs.
+ Configures and calibrates flow, pressure, level, and temperature instrumentation.
+ Install field and panel mounted equipment.
+ Installs pressure, temperature, flow, level switches, and monitoring devices.
+ Troubleshoots equipment failures.
+ Improves and enhances teamwork, and efficiency.
+ Assist in the training and development of new employees.
+ Follows all site safety policies/procedures.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ Previous electrical experience, Journeyman’s license preferred.
+ Ability to read equipment prints and secure information from OEM manuals.
+ Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
+ Ability to complete projects safely and in a timely manner.
+ Ability to work across multiple groups.
+ Initiative-taker with a keen ability to multi-task.
+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions in technically demanding situations.
+ Ability to understand and use instrument calibration and electrical testing equipment.
+ Ability to read and interpret various drawings such as P&IDs, SWDs, and single line diagrams.
Essential Requirements:
+ Work in tight and closed spaces.
+ Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
+ Ability to work overtime, including call outs.
+ Must be 18 years of age or older.
+ Working outside most of the time with potential exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
+ Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
+ Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks.
+ Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of two miles per day.
+ Use of respirator if position requires.
+ Potential or periodic amounts of time for the following:
+ Sit, stoop, crawl, stand, and kneel.
+ If driving is required, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurability will be required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
