About the job:
Kent is looking for an Instrument Fitter to be based in Port Arthur/Sabine Pass, TX supporting a long-term commissioning & startup/construction project.
Skills and Responsibilities: Must be able to install screw pipe and various sized tubing where required. Assemble screw pipe, tubing or fittings using threaded and compression connectors.Installs instruments, instrument stands. Mounts and install various Instruments and Instrument Stands. Mounts and installs Temperature Probes, Pressure Gauges, Switch’s and other Instrument devices.Installs Transmitters, Tubing Valves and other devices to the correct orientation per detail.Take reasonable care of your own and others health and safety.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: Normal work environment will be shop or field which will require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, working near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals and airborne particles.Ability to effectively verbally communicate directions from craft supervisors, and respond to questions from managers and fellow workers.Promote and comply with all Company and Safety policies and proceduresMust supply own tools appropriate for basic tasks. Identify and proper use of Instrumentation materialsAbility to read P&ID’s, detail drawings and tubing schematics.Layout and install various size tubingInstall air pipeFabricate and install supports, braces and hangers for tube trayLayout and install instrument stands and supportsMount and install instrument devicesOther duties as assigned by Foreman or SuperintendentKnowledge of and ability to use hand and power toolsFamiliarity with tools, materials and methods of fabricationProficient in measuring and calculationAbility to use specialized tools and equipment
