Instrument Operator
Job Title: Instrument OperatorJob Description + Record measurements and observations accurately, and provide data to surveyors, contractors, or project managers + Perform tasks such as construction stakeout, topographical surveys, boundary analysis, and as-built surveys. Long term you will learn how to perform ALTA surveys + Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. + Interact professionally with clients and team members, providing updates and clarifications as necessary + Operate Trimble equipment including GPS base and rover units, VRS networks, Robotic total stations, Digital level, TSC7 data collectors, and TBC processing software. + Work on a variety of projects including commercial, industrial, multifamily residential, and institutional. + Conduct pre-design survey work for other Civil/Architectural firms. + Travel locally to job sites within Central Indiana with minimal overnight travel. Essential Skills + 3+ years of professional experience as an Instrument Operator + Experience in construction layout, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and ALTA surveys. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with Trimble equipment. + Knowledge of land surveying software. + Good communication and team collaboration skills. Work Environment You will primarily work outside in the field on survey projects. You will travel directly from home to the job site, allowing a high degree of autonomy. Occasionally, you will come into the office to meet with Project Managers and other team members. Typical work hours start around 7:30 AM, with earlier starts in summer months, averaging 45-50 hours per week.
