Job Title: Instrument Operator
Job Description
We provide civil engineering, land planning, surveying, urban design, and development consulting services to public and private organizations throughout the United States and abroad. We are currently hiring three surveyors/Instrument Operators. As an Instrument Operator, you will be part of a two-person crew. You will report to Reston every day and then proceed to the site in DC/VA. You will be responsible for following safety regulations, daily instrument care, obtaining accurate field locations, and correct coding for a 'field to finish' mapping product, construction stakeouts, clear and concise field notes, and recording daily records.

Essential Skills
+ High school diploma
+ 1+ years of experience in land surveying
+ Proven knowledge with the use of Topcon survey equipment and software (GPS/RTK Robotics, Total Stations, Levels, and Data Collectors)
+ Communication skills
+ Ability to operate scanning equipment is a plus
Work Environment
Construction site in all weather conditions. If the work is in DC, please note that the space may be small with limited parking. The work environment includes commercial renovation sites and is fast-paced with very deadline-intensive fieldwork. The office environment is quiet, and the owners are actively involved in day-to-day operations. You will work four 10-hour days, giving you a three-day weekend. The schedule is Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday.
