Instrument Support Specialist/Metrologist

INSTRUMENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Pay: $30.00 - 50.00/hr 

Location: Eden Prairie, MN

Must Be Local to MN

SUMMARY

Responsible for executing, providing, or overseeing the

maintenance, repair, and qualification of instrumentation, hardware, and

software; provide feedback and guidance regarding instrumentation using intermediate

to complex professional and technical knowledge of mechanical, scientific, or

related instrumentation and software.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains analytical instrumentation by completing preventive maintenance schedules; conducting tests; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions; calling for service; maintaining equipment inventories.Maintain documentation on new equipment, inspections, and instrument repairs and failures.Expected to be knowledgeable about the assembly of component parts, sub-assemblies or completed units, including electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical and structural assembly for products and instruments.Work with external vendors to schedule preventative maintenance and in-depth repairs.Provides intermediate to complex diagnosis, maintenance and preventative maintenance, qualification, troubleshooting, and repairs of instrumentation/equipment.Provides calibration and qualification of instruments and equipment.Recommends and implements improvements to instrument/equipment/system.Sources and orders supplies and parts to ensure inventory of consumables and repair parts for instruments, as needed.Ensures the accuracy of equipment, actions, procedures and operational databases, reports, and related details through audits, queries, and operational reviews; works with teams to resolve discrepancies; resolves discrepancies or escalates discrepancies to ensure quality assurance in equipment.Provides standard research, feedback and decisions to resolve customer/management and employee questions and requirements; assists with receiving vendor feedback and coordinating resources and responses as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE

A BS or BA in a life science degreeMinimum of 5 years of relevant experienceMust be self-disciplined, able to work with minimal supervision and manage time efficientlyAdvanced ability to understand analytical techniques and proceduresAdvanced ability to understand laboratory instrumentationIntermediate to complex knowledge of laboratory and analytical instrumentation.Intermediate to complex knowledge of metrology standards.Principles, practices, and techniques to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems.Intermediate to complex knowledge in testing tools, instruments and calibration.Methods to resolve area problems, questions, and concerns.Performing intermediate to complex instrumentation troubleshooting.Preparing expert functionals reports, correspondence, and other written materials.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00
