Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for an onsite position in our Engineering Test Laboratory (Lab) in La Crosse, Wisconsin as an Instrument Technician II. This position provides technical support to advance measurement capability and data quality, for the NA Commercial HVAC Laboratories. As part of the Laboratory Instrument and Metrology Services (IMS) Team, you will work closely with all other Lab Teams to fully comply with all UL and ISO regulatory agencies. The job requires problem solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration with other lab and engineering team members to ensure timely completion of projects. This position is salaried non-exempt.

What you will do:    

Work safely and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures Install, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various types of electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical instrumentation Apply knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate devices in the electrical, electronic, dimensional, physical, mechanical, and/or environmental disciplines to ensure measurement accuracy Identify and utilize appropriate measurement procedures and technical manuals Provide technical assistance on instrumentation related issues to customers and team members Work closely with customers to coordinate and execute periodic maintenance and calibration

 

What you will bring:  

·         Associate degree in HVAC, Electromechanical, Electronics, or 2-year equivalent degree program at an accredited school

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.

·         A working knowledge of measurement and control equipment (electrical, electronic, and pneumatic), data acquisition, and communications

·         5+ years work experience in related field recommended

·         Experience with ISO 17025 & ANSI/NCLS Z540 preferred

Compensation:    

Base Pay Range: $45,000-$85,000
