**Description** Instrumentation Technicians are tasked with a diverse range of responsibilities that revolve around the upkeep of equipment performance through detailed maintenance tasks. + Installing new instrumentation systems and configuring them to the required settings. + Performing routine checks and maintenance on existing systems to prevent mechanical failure. + Calibrating instruments to ensure their accuracy and reliability in data gathering and process control. + Diagnosing issues and effectuating immediate repairs to mitigate downtime. + Updating system software and hardware to ensure technological compliance and efficiency. + Documenting processes and maintaining service reports to adhere to compliance and operational standards. + Collaborating with team members, including engineers and other technicians, to improve system performance. + Inspecting and testing instrumentation and control systems to guarantee optimal operation. + Reading and interpreting complex technical drawings and schematics. + Configuring and adjusting control systems and equipment according to production specifications. + Providing training and support to other technical staff and team members regarding system operation and troubleshooting complexities **Qualifications** SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS + Understand and carry out oral instructions. + Read and carry out simple written instructions. + Read and carry out complicated written instructions. + Work at varying heights + Operate complex equipment and power tools. + Operate small equipment and power tools. + Must pass Burns & McDonnell assessments to be eligible for position + Must have 3 years of experience as Instrument Technician WORKING CONDITIONS + Employees will be required to be able to endure long periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and/or lifting. + May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs. + Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding. + Must be able to work in all weather conditions. + Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) Burns & McDonnell does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religions, sex, national origin, age, disability or any other characteristic protected by application state or federal civil rights law. **Job** Craft **Primary Location** US-TX-Houston **Schedule:** Full-time **Travel:** No **Req ID:** 250453 **Job Hire Type** Experienced #LI-DNI #CSP N/A
