Instrumentation and Control System Intern

**Job Overview:**
McDermott is looking for an engineering intern to join our Instrumentation and Control System team during the summer of 2025. As an intern, you will have the chance to learn about the instrumentation and systems that control, monitor, and safely shutdown process plants. You will work in a project team environment, engaging with peers and mentors as you develop and review engineering documentation and grow in your career.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities:**
+ Support the review of project P&IDs and related instrument index.
+ Develop and review instrument datasheets (used to specify instrumentation).
+ Support instrumentation procurement activities.
+ Develop and review of I/O lists and alarm lists.
+ Develop and review Cause & Effect charts for safety logic.
**Essential Qualifications and Education:**
+ One or two semesters away from graduation in a bachelor’s or master’s engineering curriculum.
+ Strong analytical and mathematic skills.
+ Good written and verbal communication skills.
+ Excellent time management and professionalism.
+ Experience with using MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel).
+ A growth mindset and willingness to learn and accept improvement feedback.
+ Eligible to work in the United States (citizen or green-card holder).
+ Experience working in databases.
+ Familiar with instrumentation and their purpose.
+ Familiar with control systems such as PLCs.
