We are currently seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to support water wastewater projectsThis company is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilitiesHybrid schedule requiring only 1 day a week in officeCandidates must be PEBased in Littleton, CO or Phoenix, AZ

Responsibilities:

Work with project manager and clientsDevelop scopes of work for I&C systems, networks and projectsLead I&C design teams for medium and large projectsDesign PLC SCADA networks for medium and large systemsSpecify industrial fiber optic networks, systems and componentsDesign SCADA network block diagramsSelect instrumentationDevelop P&IDsDevelop control strategiesDesign control panel layoutsPrepare ISA data sheets and instrument sitesDevelop input/output point listsReviews submittalsPrepare specifications for instruments, computers, networking equipment, PLCs and associated componentsDevelop preliminary and final construction cost estimates for I&CMeet with clients for design-related workshops, including instrument preferences, HMI graphics design and standard developmentDesign radio telemetry SCADA systems using microwave, spread spectrum, licensed MAS, cellular or other radio technologiesMentor and train Staff Instrumentation EngineersPrepare technical memorandums and reportsManage the instrumentation portion of medium to large sized instrumentation and control projects for water and wastewater treatment facilitiesConduct quality management reviews of instrumentation and control designsParticipate in continuing editing and development of I&C master specificationsDevelop project specific specifications for unusual or unique instrumentation applicationsPrioritize and balance competing project demands and conflicting project requirementsManage other instrumentation and control engineers and CADD technicians to effectively complete work with attention to detailDelegate tasks to others and follows ups on completion and quality of workIdentify and consult with others on solutions to unusual, difficult, or complex tasksEffectively participate in client contacts and business development effortsIdentify alternatives, evaluates each, and determines appropriate actions to move forwardMake solid and implementable decisions in a timely mannerReduce complex aspects of instrumentation and control engineering to terms understandable to othersMonitor scope, schedule, and budget and control the work to the project planMakes site visits to observe during construction and operationTravel required when requested

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering6-12 years experience in electrical power and control systems for water, wastewater, and petrochemical facilitiesCapable of P&ID development, instrumentation selection, control panel layouts, understanding of programmable logic controllers and SCADA HMI software, process control narratives, control system network design, radio telemetry, logic diagrams, control schematics, and assist in field construction and start-up activitiesRegistration as a Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain within 6 months
