Instrumentation/Calibration Technician
The Position

As an integrated part of the Hillsboro Technical Operations (HTO) team, you will perform a wide variety of tasks and operations that are required to formulate, fill, and inspect sterile pharmaceutical products in an innovative, automated production facility.

This position is located On-site in Hillsboro.  We are looking for two people for each of the following shifts:

Day Shift-6:00 am-6:30 pm (Sun - Tues and every other Wed)

Night Shift-6:00 pm-6:30 am (Wed-Fri and every other Sat)

The Opportunity:

In this position, you will maintain, assemble, install, and repair electronic and instrumentation devices on production equipment as required.  Assist with major equipment overhauls and testing, repairs, and installations as necessary.  Troubleshoot control components-- photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, frequency converters, linear drives, tachometers, and encoders.  Must have working knowledge of pumps, valves, mechanical seals, motors and piping systems.   

Lead or assist with calibrations, equipment upgrades, repairs, and installations.

Apply and maintain advanced documentation of industrial process instrumentation, control systems, and ISA standards.

Troubleshoot PLC programs, ladder logic, components (such as CPUs, I/O boards, counters), and communication modules (Ethernet).

Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment using software platforms for calibration data, instrument programming, and system modifications.

Understand and interpret engineering documents, P&IDs, and operate/fix Delta-V and MES systems, while evaluating and recommending improvements for system performance.

Who you are:

Instrumentation Technician:

An associate degree in a related science or engineering major or similar degree.

Substantial relevant on-the-job training with 5 years in manufacturing process instrumentation and control and/or analytical instrumentation or a closely related job and a minimum 3 years in a cGMP environment.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Oregon is $58,400 - $108,400. 

Senior Instrumentation Technician:

An associate degree in a related science or engineering major or similar degree.

Substantial relevant on-the-job training with 8 year in manufacturing process instrumentation and control and/or analytical instrumentation or a closely related job and a minimum 6 years in a cGMP environment.

​ The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Oregon is $64,500 - $119,900. 

Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.

 You follow cGMPs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Genentech standards.

You are knowledgeable about OSHA, NEC, and State and Federal laws as they apply to equipment and operations.

You are able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.

You are proficient in performing lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, using LOTO practices, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and drawings.

You are comfortable working in proximity to hazardous chemicals, high and low-temperature liquids, high-pressure liquids and gases, steam, and moving machinery/equipment.
