Job Title: Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our team. The primary focus of this role is the specification and procurement of instrumentation for large frame gas turbines, as well as the creation and maintenance of all supporting instrumentation documentation. The ideal candidate will support project engineering in addressing customer instrumentation needs and bid assessments for new gas turbine builds.

ResponsibilitiesDetermine customer instrumentation and control contract requirements and delivery dates.Create instrumentation procurement schedules and technical specifications.Request quotes and verify supplier quotes.Verify all instrumentation against system P&IDs and create instrument lists.Create instrument loops and datasheets for instrumentation.Generate drawings for instrumentation.Responsible for all design input documents needed to create an I/O list.Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors, project management, and other relevant authorities within cost and time-constrained environments.Collaborate with design engineers, operations engineers, purchasers, sales & marketing, and other internal staff.Resolve customer comments on all responsible drawings.Create and maintain I&C procedures and checklists.Troubleshoot and problem-solve at various project sites.Ensure compliance with technical standards of the country in which work is undertaken.Interpret and apply applicable codes like ISA, ANSI/NEMA, NFPA, AGA, etc.Qualify new vendors as required.Travel up to 15%.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering from a four-year college or university.At least five (5) years of related experience and/or training in I&C disciplines applicable to power plants.Strong knowledge of P&ID, process instrumentation diagrams, and plant processing.Experience with Netmation, MK5, MK6, Complicity, T3000, R3000, Simatic, Ovation, Delta V.Proficiency in handling pressure transmitters, switches, gauges, control valves, thermocouples, RTDs, vibration, speed, positioners, LVDTs, level, calorie meters, CEMS, emissions, and balance of plant (BOP).Ability to create and manage I/O counts and lists, and signal interfaces.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience and understanding of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) and Smart Plant 3D (S3D) is highly desirable but not required.Experience in conducting Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for instrumentation.Experience in supporting field operations with on-site installation of instrumentation.Experience in providing start-up commissioning, operations, and troubleshooting support for equipment failures.Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement solutions.Mathematical skills: proficiency in probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry.Reasoning ability: capability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
