Job Description

Lead the development and implementation of new instrumentation systems and the improvement of existing systems to inspect critical product characteristics during the manufacturing process. Developing new instrumentation systems could be in the field of machine vision or industrial instrumentation. Machine vision applications include determining the optimal lighting, optics and camera technology choice for the application and developing the associated software for the image analysis. Industrial instrumentation applications include determining the right sensor technology, signal processing, data acquisition method and analysis. Both applications include integration into manufacturing control and data systems. 

Job Qualifications

Technical Mastery: This role requires strong technical mastery in instrumentation engineering applications, preferably assembled technologies. Ability to lead development of specifications, evaluate technical options, and execute robust learning plans are executed to ensure technical readiness. Experience with machine vision (Cognex and/or Matrox) or instrumentation systems and creation of deliverables such as user requirements documents, design basis, functional specifications and validation protocols is needed. Experience with laser welding applications is a benefit. Candidate should have experience diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues on equipment or instrumentation systems. Candidate should be technically curious, not afraid of learning new things or diagnosing problems on unfamiliar systems.

Leadership: Proven track record of leading and delivering technical projects from scope definition, project establishment, and estimating for

business execution. The individual must have demonstrated capability to develop technical options, frame key risks and provide recommendations for business decisions.

Externally Connected: The candidate should demonstrate an ability to focus externally and bring in new ideas from industry an apply them to business and technical challenges. The candidate should also demonstrate an ability to work with and develop external suppliers to deliver technical solutions.

Embraces Change: The transformation of instrumentation's role in manufacturing with key business strategies require significant openness to new channels of collaboration, communication, and an environment of continuous change.

Collaboration: The candidate should have demonstrated effective collaboration skills across geographies and technical functions. The individual must have the ability to quickly develop strong working relationships within the Seamless Technical Community including Research & Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance organizations to achieve business objectives.

Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills: The candidate must have effective communication skills, speaking and writing in English, and be able to work with the technical partners on the best propositions to deliver the success criteria and share with leadership to drive regional recommendations or help needed. This role requires fundamental ownership of instrumentation system specifications and deliverables for implementation and rollout across global manufacturing equipment.

This role is based at the Lodz Manufacturing Center and can require some travel to other P&G facilities, as well as vendors within the Europe region.
