The Amentum ATOM Group at NASA Ames Research Center is seeking a skilled Instrument Technician to join our Wind Tunnel Division team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining instrumentation used in wind tunnel testing.
Key Responsibilities\:
• Install and maintain instrumentation for wind tunnel testing, including pressure, temperature, force, angle, and motion measurements.
• Provide technical support for customer-developed wind tunnel test articles.
• Requires ability to perform electronic assembly and installation including soldering, composition of prototype circuits, cables, taper pins, and other instrument connections.
• Experience with strain gauges, static and dynamic pressure transducers, accelerometers, signal amplifiers, and instrument metrology.
• Understand wiring schematics, control systems, and relay logic circuits.
• This role involves collaborating with the Test Engineers, Instrumentation Engineers, and external aerospace customers to get all necessary instrumentation ready for the test article.
Depending on the Wind Tunnel Test requirements, this position requires shift work including Day, Swing and Grave Shift. Must be able to obtain a NASA badge and gain access to the facilities.
