Hire Resolve’s Client is seeking to hire a Instrumentation Technician to join their team in Rosslyn, Gauteng. The role requires to be a highly skilled Instrumentation Technician that ensure the reliability and optimal performance of industrial instrumentation and control systems. The role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting instrumentation equipment to support seamless plant operations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in minimizing downtime, improving efficiency, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair instrumentation equipment, including sensors, transmitters, PLCs, SCADA systems, and control valves.
Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on plant instrumentation.
Diagnose and resolve faults in control systems and instrumentation to minimize downtime.
Work closely with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Maintain documentation, including schematics, calibration records, and maintenance logs.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Provide technical support and recommendations for process improvement and system upgrades.
Assist with commissioning of new equipment and system modifications.
Participate in shutdown maintenance and emergency repair activities.
Qualifications and Experience:National Diploma or Trade Test in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in instrumentation and control systems in an industrial environment (preferably in manufacturing, pulp & paper, or packaging industry).
Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar systems).
Strong knowledge of SCADA systems, VSDs, and industrial networks.
Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and process instrumentation.
Ability to interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Additional Requirements:Ability to work shifts and standby duties when required.
Valid driver’s license and own transport.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
