**Job Title: Instrumentation Technician**
**Job Description**
As an Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for calibrating, programming, installing, and troubleshooting “smart” process instrumentation, such as temperature, pressure, and level transmitters, as well as control valves. You will operate various types of machinery in the coke-making process and perform production and maintenance tasks to ensure maximum production quality. You will also collaborate with team members to coordinate and execute maintenance activities.
**Responsibilities**
+ Calibrate, program, install, and troubleshoot smart process instrumentation.
+ Operate machinery in the coke-making process.
+ Perform production and maintenance tasks to ensure maximum quality and production.
+ Lead and perform maintenance activities with operating crew members.
+ Coordinate and work in conjunction with calibration and process control loops.
+ Manage Distribution Control Systems (DCS) and loop tuning with DCS.
+ Handle PLC, hydraulic controls, and process analyzers including opacity, oxygen, combustibles, process gas, and chemical analysis.
+ Calibrate industrial equipment and control systems.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with process control loops.
+ Knowledge of Distribution Control Systems (DCS) and loop tuning with DCS.
+ Proficiency with PLC, hydraulic controls, and process analyzers.
+ Expertise in instrumentation and calibration of industrial equipment.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ PLC programming experience.
+ Experience with switch gear and manipulation of 440V, 4800V.
+ Basic understanding of plant power one-line diagrams of high and medium voltage power distribution.
+ Knowledge of low voltage systems.
+ Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
+ Experience with pumps, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
+ Relevant licenses/certifications.

**Work Environment**
You will work in a heavy industrial environment that requires wearing fire retardant clothing, steel-toed boots, a hard hat, and safety glasses. The plant operates both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to all types of weather conditions, including temperatures up to 130 degrees in the summer. Our company provides all uniforms, boots, glasses, ear protection, and tools. You will always work alongside another skilled tradesperson to ensure safety, and you will be expected to follow strict safety protocols. The shift schedule includes a day shift from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm (Monday-Friday) and a 12-hour rotating swing shift with a 4-week rotation. Contractors will work 14 out of 28 days and will act as on-call personnel every other month. Safety is our number one rule, and we reward employees for prioritizing safety. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, Michigan.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.

**Workplace Type**
