Instrumentation Walkdown CoordinatorKBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Instrumentation Walkdown Coordinator to support the multi-billion-dollar Plaquemines project developing a Liquid Natural Gas export facility when fully developed will have an export capacity of up to 20 million metric tonnes per year. The facility’s location is about 20 miles south of New Orleans. This project is expected to be a multi-phase project spanning two years.
Aligning with KBR’s commitment to sustainability, the 630-acre site located on the Mississippi River provides deep-water access without the need for dredging, allowing for an expedited environmentally friendly development process.
This position will start at the Home Office in Houston, TX then mobilize to site in Port Sulphur, LA.

The Instrumentation Walkdown Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of the project by having a keen eye to detail, a strong understanding of instrumentation components, and the ability to coordinate and oversee walkdown teams effectively.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, instrumentation specialists, and other stakeholders to plan and execute comprehensive walkdowns strategies for instrumentationReview project documentation and specifications to understand requirements for instruments installation, calibration, and commissioningCoordinate and schedule walkdown activities, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and adherence to project timelinesLead walkdowns teams to physically inspect and verify the installation, placement, and functionality of instrument devicesDocument and communicate any discrepancies, deviations, or issues identified during walkdowns, and ensure they are appropriately addressed and captured on punch listCompile accurate and thorough walkdown reports, including detailed descriptions of findings, photographs evidence, and recommended actionsSupport the resolution of discrepancies by coordinating with relevant teams and tracking progress through resolution.Monitor and track the completion of corrective actions resulting from walkdownsExperience & Skills:
Preferably within the energy or LNG sector:Proven ability in conducting and coordinating instrumentation walkdown activitiesEstablished competence as an Instrumentation Walkdown Coordinator for a large-scale construction projectDetailed knowledge of instrumentation components, installation practices and calibration proceduresHighly adept in reading and interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs’ and schematicsStrong understanding of construction processes, codes, standards, and regulationsProficiency using construction management software such as Co-Console, Smart Completion, MCplus and Microsoft Office suiteExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to lead and coordinate teams effectivelyAdditional Qualifications:
In lieu of formal education 18 + years of experience in conducting and coordinating instrumentation walkdown activities, preferably within the energy or LNG sectorBachelor’s degree in engineering or related field10 + years of experience in conducting and coordinating instrumentation walkdown activities with average experience of 15 + yearsDecarbonization – Energy Transition – SustainabilityKBR Benefits
