The Thermo Scientific Environmental & Process Monitoring (EPM) business unit, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, is a world leader in the supply of instruments, systems, and services used to continuously measure and detect environmental and process parameters for a variety of industries including power, cement, pulp & paper, metals, industrial boilers, universities, government, and many other markets that require precise and accurate measurement of air pollutants required by government regulations or to increase the efficiency of a process. The Environmental Regional Sales Manager’s responsibilities include the sales of a complete line of instrumentation products and services to all applicable markets in the Northeast United States. Working in conjunction with a blended sales channel including manufacturer’s representatives, the Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for managing major accounts and growing the region for our products and services. Some of our technologies include chemiluminescence, UV fluorescence, atomic fluorescence, FTIR, NDIR, FID, laser-based, TEOM, nephelometry, and other technologies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Prospect and maintain customer base for all markets.Perform transactional and consultative selling.Strong relationship building skills required. Implement strategic sales initiatives into the region that compliment the corporate goals and objectives.Manage representative channel including forecasting, establishment of sales goals and pipeline management.Participate in trade shows and local technical seminars as required.Travel within the territory will be at least 50% of the time.Maintain sales automation tool (CRM) with updates to contacts, pipeline, opportunities and forecast.Skills and Requirements:
HS Diploma or GED. BS degree preferred.Five (5) years minimum experience in sales/marketing of scientific instrumentation.Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to sell up into organizations.Well versed in Word, Excel, and PPT at a minimum.Well versed in value selling techniques.Experience in selling to a variety of industries preferred.Familiarity with air quality regulations and process engineering would be of significant benefitMust possess strong listening skills, ability to (after training) listen to technical specifications and coherently relay requirements to factory.Ability to multi-task with an attention to detail.Must have strong customer service and relationship building skills within industrial marketplacesCompensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $71,300.00–$107,000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
