Description A midsized law firm in downtown Seattle is seeking an Insurance Defense and Coverage Attorney to add to their team with also includes a robust group of legal assistants and paralegals. The salary range is 140-200k base, plus additional bonus earnings for hitting your billable target and additional bonusing for exceeding. Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance (with employee's premiums fully paid by firm), 401k with employer match and additional profit sharing contributions, flexible PTO and sick time, 11 paid holidays, transportation benefits and other perks. The firm pays for bar dues and CLEs. The role offers hybrid work-from-home flexibility but does require some in-office presence. Responsibilities + Research and write coverage opinions providing legal advice to wide array of insurance clients. + Review claim files, underlying claim materials, and policy language. + Prepare comprehensive coverage analyses and Reservation of Rights letters. + Work as part of team with all levels of responsibility. + Handle all aspects of discovery, including written discovery and depositions. + Research and draft motions and briefs. + Handle court appearances and motions practice. + Communicate with clients and claims professionals. Requirements + 5+ years of experience practicing as an attorney + Extensive experience with insurance defense matters, insurance coverage a big plus + Ability to handle your own caseload without need for substantive training outside of regular onboarding + Experienced in motions practice and depositions + Great research and writing skills + Juris Doctor with strong academic credentials + Active Washington State bar license The firm welcomes candidates who are interested in future partnership and will set forth a detailed plan for achieving the goals required for consideration.
