**Austin Industries** has an outstanding opportunity for an **Insurance Manager** at our corporate headquarters in **Dallas, Texas.** The Insurance Manager is primarily responsible for supporting the Director, Corporate Insurance and Risk Management. The position also provides support to other team members for insurance and surety. Additionally, this position requires interaction with Safety Managers, Corporate and Operating Company Management, Operating Company Risk Managers, Insurers and Brokers.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Analyze insurance requirements in construction pursuit documents (such as RFQs and RFPs) and contracts to ensure ability to comply
+ Evaluate whether insurance language in various construction related contracts adequately protect Austin’s interests and suggest alternative language to address concerns
+ Develop mitigation strategies for insurance risk in contract documents (such as leases, POs and prime/sub contracts)
+ Evaluate appropriate insurance coverages and structure for construction projects
+ Report and manage first and third-party insurance claims
+ Respond to questions relating to owner and subcontractor insurance coverages and certificates of insurance
+ Interact with internal clients on their insurance needs and with Austin’s insurance broker regarding insurance coverage placements
+ Develop and teach training classes on insurance and surety topics
+ Back-up for the surety bond underwriter
+ Perform other job-related duties as assigned
**Qualifications:**
+ Knowledge of Property, Casualty and Specialty insurance coverages relating to the construction industry
+ Experience as an insurance broker, risk management specialist or underwriter relating to the construction industry will be helpful
+ Insurance designations a plus, e.g., CPCU, ARM, CRIS
+ Surety bond experience helpful but not required
+ Occasional travel may be required to job sites and company offices
**Requirements:**
+ Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree is a plus
+ Five years’ experience with Property and Casualty insurance or construction industries reviewing insurance policies and provisions in construction contracts
+ Attention to detail with strong written and analytical skills
+ Ability to adapt and adjust to multiple demands and competing priorities
+ Proficiency in standard operations and communication software (Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
