Insurance Placement Assistant

General Description: This role will have two primary responsibilities.  The first will be to provide support to the Select Commercial Lines Producers by completing technical resource related tasks required to secure new business.  Additionally, the position will be responsible for assisting the Select Marketing Specialist with the marketing/placement of new business (small business) with partner insurance carriers.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Regional Marketing Specialist to review, input, submit, and accurately document New Business Submissions in agency management systemsAssist the Regional Marketing Specialist to quote online via carrier rating tools, or submit to underwriterComplete Workers’ Compensation Experience Modification Analyses in Mod Master or other similar resourceComplete Property Valuation Reports via Marshall and Swift or other similar resource. ·       Assist the Regional Marketing Specialist to complete marketing summary outlining terms, rates, commission, bind order documents, and carrier responses including reason for declinationRequired to perform essential functions; meeting service standards and best practices developed by USI

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal instruction, strong business acumen, and a high degree of frequencySales driven and solution oriented to help meet production and growth goalsAbility to creatively and proactively problem solve and negotiateSets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate workMinimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Commercial Property & Casualty; a comprehensive understanding of all Property & Casualty insurance coverages, placement, underwriting and rating conceptsKnowledge of agency management system, workflow procedures, underwriting, sales and service processesKnowledge of insurance carrier systems for submission and quotingKnowledge of Workers’ Compensation Experience Modification Analysis Tools and Property Valuation Tools, not necessary but a plusProficient in Word and ExcelStrong written, oral and interpersonal communication skillsMust hold state Property & Casualty insurance license or willing to obtain one within an agreed upon timeframeMaintain a cordial and effective relationship with production team, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts; ability to work in a team environmentEffective interactions/communications with others; cooperating purposefully and providing information, guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of USI
