Insurance Risk Manager

Nouria Energy Corporation has an exciting opportunity for the newly created position of Insurance Risk Manager. This is a dynamic role that will work closely with the Legal Department, the Risk and Safety Departments and other internal departments to understand, evaluate, and manage risk and insurance for the organization.  The role is expected to regularly interact with insurance brokers and carriers, as well as coordinate with multiple internal departments. This position reports to our General Counsel.

Primary Job Duties:

Evaluate business risk throughout the organization and identify ways to mitigate or eliminate the overall impact on our growing organization on all insurance lines.Evaluate and establish insurance requirements for entities conducting business with Nouria, such as vendors, tenants, service providers, carriers, contractors, and wholesale customers, and oversee related certificate of insurance compliance. Serve as the primary internal and external contact for insurance matters.Manage all insurance coverage, understanding and evaluating insurance policies, endorsements, assessing risks and coverage placement including the review of invoices for billed premiums.Assist in establishing coverage types, coverage limits and endorsements, and negotiating coverage.Oversee claims administration and settlement.  Maintain insurance policies and related insurance files. Review loss run reports and make recommendations for improvement.Manage insurance renewals, extensions and endorsement of changes and acquire new and specialized types of insurance coverage; complete insurance policy audits and/or premium verifications; reviews contracts for appropriateness.Coordinate administrative aspects relating to the maintenance of captive insurance, including all self-funded programs.Support legal counsel and senior management in managing litigated claims.Identify and analyze risks and hazards to which employees, consumers and general public or property may be exposed.

Skills/Experience:

Minimum of 10 years’ experience overseeing claims, including litigated claims.Knowledge of CGL, casualty, cyber, and workers compensation insurance coverage and familiarity with insurance policies and loss prevention.Experience in forecasting and analysis of risk.Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a risk department, commercial insurer or insurance broker, preferably in the retail sector.A solid understanding of financial statements and related spreadsheets.Robust technical knowledge of contract insurance requirements, endorsements, liabilities, and indemnifications as it pertains to vendor and procurement agreements.Familiarity with CoI management and processes.  Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills required.Previous experience with captive insurers is a plus.

Education Background:

Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Insurance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred.Industry certification, such as Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or Professional Risk Manager (PRM) preferred..
