Insurance Verification Specialist
System One has partnered with a Specialty Care Clinic in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area that is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Insurance Verification Specialist to join their dynamic team in Tulsa. Job Summary: The Insurance Verification Specialist will be responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, ensuring proper authorization for services, and educating patients about their insurance benefits. This role will require excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of insurance processes within the healthcare industry. Key Responsibilities: + Verify patients' insurance eligibility and coverage prior to their appointments, ensuring that necessary information is accurate and complete. + Obtain and document pre-authorization for specialty procedures and referrals as necessary. + Communicate effectively with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to resolve any discrepancies or issues regarding insurance coverage. + Review and interpret insurance policies to determine patient benefits and financial responsibilities. + Assist patients with understanding their benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs. + Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within the electronic health record (EHR) system. + Collaborate with the billing department to ensure a smooth and efficient claim process. + Stay current with changes in insurance policies, regulations, and procedures. + Provide exceptional customer service to patients and family members, addressing any concerns or questions related to insurance. Qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred. + Minimum of [2-3] years of experience in insurance verification, prior authorization, or medical billing in a healthcare setting. + Strong knowledge of insurance terminology, procedures, and regulations. + Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare software. + Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. + Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients, medical staff, and insurance representatives. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
