Position Summary: Behavioral health experience is defined as work experience providing direct care to individuals whose condition is related to mental disorder, a personality disorder, substance use, or a significant psychological or behavioral response to an identifiable stressor. Employee will serve as a Clinician at Terros Health, supervised by Maverick House and BTG Director. This position is responsible for completing intake assessments in both a community based and outpatient-based environment to determine if Maverick House is an appropriate level of care for the members.   This position also completes the prior authorizations with the different health plans.  The intake clinician may also engage in pre and post groups for Maverick members.  If the member is not appropriate for this level of care, this position will help in identifying alternative services for the best outcomes for the member.  Ensures the successful achievement of Terros Health vision, mission, program objective and compliance with a broad range of current federal and state health regulations and policies. Provision of services will occur in the office or other place of service. 

 

Essential Duties:

Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with clients, in the community (e.g., hospital, jail, detox, etc.) or onsite as required by program/contract guidelines. Complete intake assessments in the community (e.g., hospital, jail, detox, etc.) or onsite to meet the client where they are to ensure a smooth transition into Maverick House, if appropriate.   Utilize appropriate evidence-based practices to meet the needs of the individual or family. Ability to determine and implement appropriate determinations for level of care utilizing the ASAM criteria. Complete prior authorization to each of the health plans after a thorough assessment has been completed and BHRF-SUD is found the appropriate level of care.
