Intake Specialist - Early Childhood Services

The Intake Specialist for DDI's Early Childhood Services division assists families throughout all aspects of the intake process for incoming students. Our ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, has strong computer skills and is very organized. This position will work a 12 month calendar with paid school breaks.

Pay Range: $21.00-$25.20/hour ($21.80-$26.16/hour for bilingual candidates)

Responsibilities:  Track and oversee the entire admissions process for each prospective student; start to finish which includes but is not limited to tracking all required documents, scheduling tours, entering new students into the CLAIMS system etc.  Maintain a tracking spreadsheet for all referrals made to ECS Serve as a liaison for the family throughout the entry process Complete enrollment paperwork for new incoming entrants  Complete monthly vacancy reports and assist with ECS enrollment projection reports Participation in Intake Review meetings Outreach to Early Intervention Officials and CPSE/CSE Chairpersons regarding current and future student openings Collaborate on special projects, assignments and other efforts as the need arises Support office staff as needed in all ECS locations Work closely with the coordinators to track census closely and accurately to determine openings at any given time Possess reliable transportation in order to travel to all Early Childhood locations, as needed Qualifications: High School Diploma Ability to interact in a professional manner with all stakeholders Strong computer skills using Microsoft Suite applications, including database management Strong organizational, interpersonal and writing skills Prior experience working in the field of developmental disabilities preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to compose and edit letters, memos, emails, plans, minutes and other documents as needed New York State Driver’s License with at least 18 months of driving experience Essential Physical Demands: Must be able to lift/move/carry 15 lbs. Must be able to kneel, twist and bend Must be able to use all office equipment in use in the assigned office Must be able to pull/retrieve/re-file files
