What role you will play in our team
We are seeking dynamic, creative, and resourceful candidates for ExxonMobil’s Bengaluru, India location to work on challenging potential field problems in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of Quantitative seismic analysis & interpretation, Processing and Formation Evaluation global specialists. Candidates will be responsible for advising vendors on gravity-magnetic acquisition, processing, interpreting data using a variety of software for analysis, and providing insights to support exploration, development and production projects. Will also be willing to work on applied project work with seismic data to perform post-imaging seismic data conditioning, velocity model building and domain conversion using a variety of software for data processing and analysis.
What you will doIn consultation with ExxonMobil’s global Geophysical Analysis experts & Business unit define project objectives, work scopes and deliverables Qualitatively interpret gravity - magnetics data to help constrain basin architecture and other seismic interpretation applications Build and interpret routine 2D and 3D gravity and/or magnetics forward / inverse models; perform depth to basement workflows, generate lithologic scenarios, volcanic vs carbonate distribution Advise in the following aspects of gravity & magnetics: technology selection, survey planning and design Work with vendors to test, deliver and support various Potential Fields data analysis tools and software Work with computational scientists, engineers, and geoscientists to test, deliver and support various geophysical data analysis tools, models, algorithms and software About You
Skills and Qualifications
Master’s or PhD degree from a recognized university in Geophysics, Geoscience, Geology, Engineering or Physics with CGPA 6.5 and above. Demonstrated record of more than 3 years of hands-on industry or research experience in Potential Field data analysis, preferably in the oil and gas industry Proficiency in English, strong interpersonal & communication skills Preferred Qualifications / Experience
Experience with one or more Potential Fields analysis software suites is desirable but not mandatory: Example: LCT Suites, XField in Petrel, WDSys, ArcGIS (ArcPro) Strong computational and analytical skills: Demonstrates clear understanding of gravity-magnetics theory and applications Understands which petrophysical parameters affect Potential Fields data and recognizes limitations/assumptions of acquisition, processing, and interpretation Recognizes when Potential Fields is useful for exploration, development and production applications Describes interpretation uncertainty and scenarios for any Potential Fields project Understands the basics of other geophysical technologies such as seismic, well logs etc. and their integration with potential field data Advanced (Optional): Demonstrates understanding of microgravity and its appropriate applicability; Gravity-magnetic modelling for production applications (reservoir monitoring, directional drilling support) Your benefits
