The Integrated Health Care – Manager, Commercial Prescription Drug Plan & Special Projects is both an operational and strategic role allowing the opportunity to showcase knowledge of the health care industry, develop and implement innovative strategies and interact with management and union leaders at the highest levels. They will report directly to the Vice President, Integrated Health Care, Disability, and Medical Operations, while maintaining key relationships with functional and business unit heads. The successful candidate must bring an ability to navigate across a rapidly evolving, high-growth business across the North American region.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage prescription drug benefits for represented and non-represented employees and retirees. Manage childcare and eldercare support and family building benefits for non-represented employees. Manage the annual strategic planning process for the full health care department, including providing status updates to executive leadership. Drive innovation into current and future delivery models by employing strong business acumen and knowledge of health- care policies, practices and competitive landscape. Demonstrate skill in vendor management and in negotiating complex transactional and service related agreements. Adapt quickly and rapidly to the changing health care delivery system and the evolving political environment. Employ strong problem solving and negotiating skills to obtain buy-in among management, employees, and union leadership. Manage multiple assignments with competing deadlines; strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize. Build strong relationships, collaborate with and lead groups, and work well with cross functional teams. Promote a clear vision for health care programs aligned with company values and direction, challenge self and others to look to future to create quality products, services and long-term viability. Collaborate and partner with other business areas across/within regions or segments and within other centralized corporate areas to ensure all workflow processes and inter-dependencies are identified and addressed on an on-going basis.Knowledge Base:
Exceptional business and financial acumen with knowledge of current health care benefits policies, practices, and the competitive landscape. Demonstrated experience and skills in benefit program design, management, performance evaluation and solutions implementation, data analytics and budget development and supplier/partner management. Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, project management, and communication skills with the ability to assess process and outcomes by establishing solid metrics of performance. Demonstrated ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data to uncover key themes and trends and create presentations to succinctly make recommendations for new programs or improvements to current programs. Experience managing external suppliers and cross-functional organizations, including contract negotiations. Effectively balance competing priorities to fulfill all stakeholder expectations.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree. 5 + years of experience working in health care industry or related field, and/or major consulting firm, demonstrating an increase in role responsibilities. Aptitude to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Strong analytical skills with an ability to drive change using data. Strong written and verbal communication skills to professionally and effectively interact with staff, colleagues, and senior management. Capacity to work with labor unions.
