About the role
We are looking for a passionate Integrated Pest Management Technician who strives for excellence in a fast-paced work environment.  This position reports to our Assistant Director of Landscaping.

What you will do

To be able to implement pest control methodologies mitigating pest damage and aesthetic quality. Provide organic chemical methods and applications that support plant vigor while protecting from leaching, drift, runoff and other forms of environmental pollution. To maintain, upkeep and beautify the Hotel garden areas both interior and exterior gardens / landscape. To be able to see Landscape defects and implement necessary changes that maintain or improve the aesthetic quality of the garden. To foresee gardens needs and anticipate time, labor and material requirements to accomplish solutions. To be able to anticipate the needs of our guests and their expectations especially as they relate to the garden.

What you bring

•   High school experience

•   Previous experience with Chemical application, reading and understanding GHS and application labels.

•   Good math skills, ability to derive dilution rates as per label requirements.

•   Previous experience in agricultural operations and or Facility landscape maintenance is highly desirable. Previous experience as a State certified Pest Control applicator is also highly desirable.

•   Ability to read and correctly interpret Labels and GHS materials as they relate to safe application of chemicals.

•   Ability to understand the safety conditions of occupied public spaces and protecting the public from exposure.

•   Ability to implement all cultural non chemical organic practices before resorting to Chemical mitigation.

•   Desirable but not required; Irrigation skills, Plant propagation, Understanding of plant growth and culture. . Arboriculture, Horticulture, irrigation

•   Experience with customer relations and anticipatory service

•   Required: Ability to operate and maintain various small equipment.

•   Understanding of Safety and hazardous materials.

•   Ability to read and write simple reports.

•   Ability to operate small utility vehicles.

•   An  LICT certification

•   Desirable certifications are; Certified Arborist, State Pest control applicator license.

•   Valid Driver’s License and clean driving abstract
