Responsibilities You will serve as an Integrated Prevention Coordinator (IPC) within the USNA Integrated Primary Prevention Workforce, primarily in suicide prevention and substance misuse prevention. You will report to the USNA Director of Wellness and Prevention and directly support the Brigade of Midshipmen with evidence-based primary prevention programming. You will advise command leaders on integrated primary prevention. You will represent USNA at public forums and meetings with senior leadership to discuss special studies or research projects. You will liaise with professionals (e.g., counselors, chaplains, commands, community support centers) to coordinate prevention programs. You will identify common themes, trends, compliance history, causal factors, or other parameters related to special study or research topics. You will develop, coordinate, and conduct training for prevention programs. You will help maintain up to date prevention policies for USNA and aid in preparing evaluations and reports for Department of Navy and Department of Defense. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing and Implementing prevention assessments and evaluations to reduce and prevent problematic/destructive behaviors, such as: suicide, sexual harassment, sexual assault, substance misuse, family and interpersonal violence, workplace violence, and military equal opportunity, etc.; 2) Planning, managing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training, education, and outreach for integrated prevention programs; 3) Consolidating and analyzing data from command climate reports, unit status reports, installation data and other sources to identify critical prevention needs and develop and provide recommendations for addressing such needs; and 4) Leading prevention programs and activities by advising installation and unit leaders on prevention action plans and initiatives. Education Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: Basic Requirements: Have successfully completed a behavioral or social science degree, or a degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position being filled. OR Have a combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Have four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
