Team or Function Overview  

The GAF Integrated Supply Chain Operations Finance Intern will be an integral part of the Center of Excellence (CoE) supporting all aspects of Manufacturing & Supply Chain Finance. 

As a Finance Intern, you will gain a foundational understanding of product and manufacturing processes while working closely with CoE Leadership at GAF Headquarters. In this role, you’ll support efforts to improve efficiency, support transformational and continuous improvement projects. 

You'll be involved in various aspects of the supply chain, gaining insight into financial operations and decision-making processes through analytics while building baseline information that can be leveraged to deliver insight and influence. This is a hands-on opportunity to develop your financial skills and contribute to the overall success of the team.

You will use plant P&L as a foundation for governance, performing detailed analysis to uncover cost and production nuances. This includes identifying key success drivers and risks ahead of month-end, while working closely with operations to mitigate them.

 

Essential Duties
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Manufacturing RC’s Cost Analysis & Reporting with deep dive variance analysis and potential improvement of metric.

Manufacturing KPI Reporting for volume, cost, absorption, PPV, and MUV scoring. Enhance and automate weekly scorecards. 

Financial Reporting & Close: Support monthly financial close activities and prepare month end leadership scorecards.

Assist CoE Director with Residential Pacing Report

Support special projects including standard cost reviews, cycle counts performance indicator

Cost Variance Analysis: Analyze cost variances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to address discrepancies.

Inventory Management: Re-evaluate and re-establish an automated report for Days of Inventory KPI for segment business lines. 

Support Business Cases for Warehouse Strategy, Rail Strategy, and Plant

Extract MES Data to understand and consolidate root cause and then leverage to reduce unplanned downtime. 

Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Support maintaining and improving internal controls, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements.

Systems Reconciliation & Balance Sheet Reconciliation

BOM & Routing Maintenance: Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings, ensuring accurate data is reflected.

Provide overall support to the Senior Finance Analyst and CoE Directors as needed.

 

Under This Roof, We Require  

Excellent communication skills are all necessary as is the ability to operate in a team.  The successful candidate must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and an anticipated graduation date between December 2025 and May 2026. 

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, without visa sponsorship now and in the future.

All GAF internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however, there are no benefits associated with these positions.  Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the summer. Transportation, F-1 and HB-1 visa sponsorship will not be provided in association with these positions.
