Job Overview:
The specialist provides technical support for pharmacy systems as well as assists in developing and implementing maximization strategies for pharmacy-related medication management automation/technologies. The specialist assists with the Integration of new technology with existing systems. The specialist works to Develop, generate, and maintain a reporting system and reports to support the pharmacy in meeting customer needs and regulatory requirements. Qualifications:
Required:
Completion of a PharmD degree from an accredited college/university,Registered pharmacist in the state of NJ in good standing,Experience leading projects and/or using Lean tools in healthcare settings is desired,At least 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience as a Pharmacist desired and five years of recent effective supervisory experience in a healthcare setting,Preferred:

The specialist will set up and maintain the configuration of Pyxis cabinets, and will maintain the Pyxis user database, systems to ensure best practices, coordinate training and ongoing competencies of Pyxis and other automation/technology, etc.The specialist will work closely with the director of pharmacy and other members of the management team to develop and support aggregate data feedback to end users of pharmacy technology to drive best practices as it relates to safe medication management.The specialist may be required to fill-in as a pharmacy technician when operational need dictates.Working knowledge of public health matters,Familiarly with Federal and State laws regulating professional and hospital practice of pharmacy,Understands the role of hospital pharmacy within the hospital and its interrelationships with other departments and functions,The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills; both written and verbal,The position requires skillful use of excel type spreadsheets; for heavy data manipulation and data display as well as word processing skillsProvides leadership in establishing, monitoring, and improving the provision of pharmaceutical care as its related to pharmacy automation and technologyMaintains pyxis configuration, reporting systems, user database, processes and workflows as designed to improve the automation performanceProvides Pyxis aggregate data to end users and leadership to improve performance, reduce discrepancies, reduce overrides of medicationMaintains a performance dashboard for automation systems and overall performance,Effectively Works with both internal and external customersParticipates on hospital committees as requested, sharing information with departmentBenefits and Perks:
