Job Description

The primary role of this position is to implement and support electronic solutions and business systems integration transactions that meet or exceed customers’ and internal business partners’ business requirements for all sectors within the respective DHL Supply Chain Division. This role is responsible for analyzing customer and business partner requirements, defining solutions, and designing, building, testing and implementing solutions that meet or exceed those requirements. Understands and applies EDI transaction set concepts and principles, data translation tools, communications protocols, and other data exchange methods to effectively implement and support business systems integration solutions.Applies IT and internal team methodologies and procedures to ensure implementations are delivered in a consistent, standard and repeatable method. Participates in the development of integration cost estimates.Prepares and delivers status reports to team leader, senior management and other project leaders.May act as a project leader on internal team initiatives. Pursuit

Effective ability to develop estimates in support of IT’s response to customer RFP / RFI / RFQ for meaningful to vital business opportunities; effective ability to develop and deliver Pursuit system demonstrations (after the potential customer has been qualified) for meaningful to vital business opportunities; effective ability to recommend solution sets that meet or exceed the requirements of our customers and business partners.

Project Planning & Administration

Effective ability to contribute to the development of a portion of the project work plan – specifically in the estimating of analytical tasks (e.g. – functional gap analysis estimates); effective use of specific DHL Supply Chain project administration processes including tracking analytical labor against the project plan; effective review of internal functional specifications or vendor quotations / functional specifications in the context of planning for application design, construction and technical testing for somewhat to considerably complex solutions.

Project Delivery

Effective ability to apply system development methodologies to analytical tasks for custom and package application projects including the development of phase end documents for all phases of the system life cycle; effective ability to facilitate / support all phases of the system life cycle with Customers, Trading Partners, Analysts, Developers & Project Leaders for custom and package application projects; apply effective industry specific knowledge (e.g. – electronic data interchange, electronic commerce, enterprise application integration, warehouse management, transportation management); apply general understanding / knowledge of technical architecture of DHL Supply Chain’s business applications; effective review of internal functional specifications or vendor quotations / functional specifications in the context of application design, construction and technical testing for somewhat to considerably complex solutions; apply general familiarity with logical application design techniques such as data/process modeling, JAR/JAD, and general facilitation skills.

General

Requires moderate to little supervision from a more senior, systems leader; accepts limited to considerable responsibility for portions of, or overall, project success; effective knowledge of DHL Supply Chain’s business applications (capabilities and limitations) and business processes including both third party and in-house developed applications.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor degree in IT similar flied or equivalent experience, requiredMaster's degree in a business, IT or related field, preferred3+ years experience in an IT environment, requiredMinimum 3 years EDI experience with progressive responsibility as an EDI Analyst / Developer, preferredExperience with EDI analysis, design and development experience in the implementation and support of integration projects, requiredExperience in the use of EDI translation software tools, required
