Integration Scientist
Description 1. Job purpose The Scientist responsibilities are to plan and perform experiments with limited supervision, document results and/or reports of experiments using Good Documentation Practices. 2. Duties and responsibilities • Strong understanding of microbiological processes and infectious diseases • Oversee the integration of engineering, microbiology and molecular biology expertise to develop and optimize diagnostic platforms, with a focus on infectious diseases • Extensive knowledge in Molecular Research, Biochemistry techniques and sequencing • Plan, execute and record scientific and technical work ensuring that platform development complies with ISO 13485 standards for successful design transfer to Manufacturing • Plan and manage project activities, including transferring bench assay SOP onto integrated prototype instruments • Perform assay development and validation for methods applicable for in vitro diagnostics • Develop and review cartridge and instrument design for platform integration • Provide technical guidance for failure analysis • Analyze data, evaluate results and design future experiments • Author technical reports with several contributors, present material in internal and external meetings Additional Skills & Qualifications + Proficient in standard and project-specific laboratory practices and procedures. + Capable of prioritizing tasks, multitasking, being detail-oriented, and adhering to standard operating procedures. + Knowledgeable in general and project-specific laboratory safety practices. + Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to summarize complex experimental data. + Skilled in writing SOPs, WIs, and technical reports. + Collaborative team player, able to work with scientists, engineers, bioinformaticians, and other employees across programs to ensure alignment and accountability. + Experienced in leading small projects or teams, providing technical expertise and leadership. + Ability to mentor and develop less experienced scientists and research associates. + PhD in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field with 5+ years of industry experience, or equivalent experience. + MS in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field with 10+ years of industry experience, or equivalent experience. + BS in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field with 15+ years of industry experience, or equivalent experience. + Experience in NGS IVD product development. + Proficient in developing and managing project plans using tools like Microsoft Project, as well as budget planning and adherence. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $36.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
