Intelligence Specialist (Staff Management)
Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army, HQDA G-2, Operations & Integration Directorate, Pentagon Arlington, VA. Responsibilities Serves as a Senior Intelligence Specialist Staff Officer and project manager in the Operations and Integration Directorate (DAMl-O1), Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence (DCS, G-2), Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA). Serves as an Army All-Source Intelligence subject matter expert in the areas of policy, operations, and technologies. Supports the development of strategy, policies, plans, and guidance that affect U.S. Army intelligence organizations and elements that conduct AllSource Intelligence operations. Attends and/or prepares U.S. Army G-2 principals or their alternates for Army, Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), and other meetings and conferences on All-Source Intelligence and related issues. Uses experience in planning, programming, budgeting and execution processes and a general understanding of the U.S. Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and US. Army in performing a variety of tasks. Serves as a Senior Army G-2 Staff Action Officer and project manager supporting the development of policies, plans, and programming for Army All-Source Intelligence and related capabilities. Responsible for coordinating with organizations and staff executing All-Source Intelligence requirements development, programs, experimentation, testing, and other activities. Advocates for the Army in All-Source intelligence committees, projects, and other forums to ensure Army priorities and equities are incorporated in other organizations' strategies, policies, and initiatives. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience: 1) Developing ALL Source Intelligence policies or plans affecting organizational operations; 2) Advising leadership on All Source Intelligence Operations in areas such as training, material, personnel and facilities; and/or 3) Coordinating All Source Intelligence programs, testing or experimentation to ensure specific requirements are met. Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-13).
