Background on the Team
The Rates Bank and Corporate Strategy Team based in New York is seeking an Associate or Vice President to help with booking entity migration and building out the corporate business. Products covered by the team include interest rate derivatives, government bonds, repurchase agreements, vanilla and exotic options.
Key Responsibilities:
Work on key initiatives within Rates Bank and Corporate Strategy Team via the development and implementation of booking entity migrationWork closely with Corporate Sales to build out the Corporate Rates businessAssist with financial analysis (e.g. pnl, capital, liquidity)Track client migration progress and statusAssist with presentations and materials to management and regulators, as well as other ad-hoc requestsWork on new product approval requirementsIdentify areas of project management inefficiency and proactively propose and implement improvementsProvide derivatives trade booking guidance to Sales, Trading and Operations and ensure accurate and timely bookingIdentify and resolve trade breaksManage operational setups and streamline processesQualifications:
5 years of Derivatives experience requiredExperience in Rates Middle Office within Investment Banking and Financial Services preferredBackground in financial business performance and planning (PL, Capital, Expenses, etc.)Familiarity with various Dodd-Frank margin requirementsHighly team oriented, commercially driven and overall eagerness to learnExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to research, collect and manage large datasetsStrong organizational skills and project management skills with the ability to efficiently multitask and deliver under tight deadlinesStrong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to share information in comprehensible formatsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly grasp key conceptsHigh proficiency in PowerPoint and MS Excel, with an ability to analyze large datasets, distill conclusions and create dashboardsExpected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment for Associate, and $225,000 to $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment for Vice President. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
