What You’ll Be Doing
Designing and developing high-performance RESTful APIs that support enterprise-wide applications and services.Leading API integration efforts with microservices, cloud platforms, and third-party systems.Managing and enforcing Interface Control Agreements (ICAs) to ensure seamless interoperability across teams and stakeholders.Implementing API security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and encryption using OAuth 2.0, SAML, and JWT.Optimizing API performance by analyzing latency, load balancing, caching, and request throttling.Deploying and managing APIs using Mulesoft, Apigee, AWS API Gateway, or Azure API Management.Ensuring API governance, including version control, monitoring, and lifecycle management.Working closely with DevOps teams to implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC).Developing and maintaining API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI standards.Collaborating with software engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to drive seamless integration and achieve business goals.

Responsibilities Develop, optimize, and maintain RESTful APIs for high-traffic enterprise applications.Architect and implement secure API integration strategies aligned with modern development practices.Define and manage Interface Control Agreements (ICAs) to standardize API communication.Oversee API security implementations, ensuring compliance with enterprise security frameworks.Implement best practices for API performance optimization, including caching, pagination, and asynchronous processing.Manage API lifecycle, versioning, and deprecation strategies to minimize disruptions.Deploy and configure APIs in API management platforms such as Mulesoft, Apigee, AWS API Gateway, or Kong.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system interoperability and automation.Troubleshoot API-related issues, providing scalable solutions for performance bottlenecks.Maintain up-to-date API documentation using Swagger, OpenAPI, and Postman.Monitor and improve API analytics, logging, and error handling mechanisms. QualificationsDHS Clearance (Active or ability to maintain)US Citizenship required for Federal Clearance Requirement8+ years of experience in API development, integration, and optimization.Expertise in RESTful API design, development, and security best practices.Strong knowledge of API management platforms (Mulesoft, Apigee, AWS API Gateway, Kong, Azure API Management).Hands-on experience with authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT, OpenID Connect).Proficiency in handling data formats and transformation (JSON, XML, XSLT, GraphQL).Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration for API deployment and automation.Knowledge of API analytics, monitoring, and logging tools (Splunk, ELK, Prometheus).Strong understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven APIs.Excellent communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with serverless APIs (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).Hands-on knowledge of gRPC, WebSockets, and GraphQL.Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).Familiarity with zero-trust security models for API access control.

The minimum starting salary for this position is $130,000.00. The actual salary may be higher and will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
