Interface Lead
Position Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interface Engineer Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will lead the design, development, and implementation of interface solutions for our applications based in Java and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires a deep understanding of interface engineering principles, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, SOAP, XML and other relevant tools and technologies and experience with enterprise distributed system design/development and working knowledge of Python or Golang and any other modern languages.
This position can be located remotely anywhere in the U.S.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of interface solutions for applications based in Java, Python, Go and GCP.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and business analysts, to gather requirements and ensure successful interface implementation.
• Lead efforts to integrate legacy applications with modern systems, ensuring data consistency and system interoperability.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of interface solutions.
• Experience in designing interfaces to support highly scalable and reliable applications that are data intensive.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical expertise and support.
• Strong understanding of design patterns as well as best practices in logging and monitoring of applications.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to interfaces.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain cutting-edge.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of interface designs, development processes, and implementation procedures.
• Ensure rigorous testing and quality assurance practices are followed to deliver reliable and robust interfaces.
• Good understanding of performance testing processes and building automation for monitoring the health of the applications.

• 10+ years or software development experience with Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Interface Engineer or similar role, with a focus on Python, Go and Google Cloud
• Strong understanding of interface design principles and best practices.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, SOAP, and other web services technologies.
• Proficiency in backend programming and related frameworks.
• Familiarity with Google services and cloud-based solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
• 15 + years of software development experience with Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience working in a federal government or defense environment.
• Knowledge of additional programming languages and technologies.
• Certification in GCP or related cloud technologies.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $88,200.00 - $195,200.00.
