Interim Controller/ CFO
Adecco is hiring an Interim Controller for our client located in Essex, VT. The desired candidate will lead financial operations, including general ledger management, payroll processing, accounts payable, grants, and cash accounts. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with GAAP, optimizing financial processes, and leading an accounting team to support the organization’s mission effectively. **Key Responsibilities:** **Financial Management & Reporting** + Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and grant financials. + Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements and statistical reports. + Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure GAAP compliance. + Supervise year-end audit and cost report preparations. + Support grant proposals, budget planning, and financial reports for funding agencies. **Team Leadership & Development** + Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to foster a high-performance culture. + Conduct performance evaluations, implement improvement plans, and oversee professional development initiatives. + Recruit and train accounting personnel, ensuring best practices in financial operations. **Compliance & Process Improvement** + Ensure adherence to federal and state financial regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and grant accounting standards. + Collaborate across departments to enhance interdepartmental financial coordination. + Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. **Qualifications & Skills:** + **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; MBA preferred. + **Experience:** Minimum of 7 years in accounting, with at least 3 years in a nonprofit setting. + **Technical Skills:** + Expertise in GAAP and financial reporting. + Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables) and PowerPoint. + Experience with ADP Workforce and NEXGEN preferred; EPIC or Athena a plus. 1. **Leadership & Soft Skills:** 2. 3.
